Thoughts From Hyperspace:
One of Anakin Skywalker's lesser known talents is styling hair.
No, wait, before you go, just hear me out! I come with facts. Or at least, a plausible defense to my theory.
1. Padmé is able to create a bitchin', cool, intricate bun as her departing hairstyle from Tatooine, seemingly BY HERSELF.
2. She does not have handmaidens present to help her with these twists and loops that occur at the BACK of her head! Just look at the detail! Look at it!
3. After multiple Halloween seasons going as Padmé with decently proficient hairstyling skills (if I do say so myself), the only outcomes that looked anything remotely like the above picture required another set of hands. Although I won't wholly deny the realm of possibility for this alternate explanation to exist, I seriously doubt Padmé asked Beru for the assist. Lest you forgot, there was a terrible cloud over the Lars homestead in the hours leading up to the epic bun of Inception (seriously where do those coils even begin?!). C-3PO and R2-D2 rank low in ability to assist as well. Don't even make me laugh by suggesting Owen or Cliegg.
4. We also already have potential evidence where Anakin may have acquired his mad skills. His own mother wore her hair in a tightly braided, intricately twisted, low bun. To me, there is something absolutely endearing about the idea that Shmi taught young Ani how to help braid or twist her hair.
5. Furthermore, the idea of Uncle Ani possibly one day braiding Ryoo or Pooja's hair... Go ahead, I dare you to make me SQUEE with a more adorable theory. I'll wait. 😉
Damn, I love this hairstyle.
Oh yes! We also know Anakin was artistic. He could draw very well, as was shown in Anakin: Apprentice. He had to have a good eye for detail to be able to design droids and was certainly good with his hands. So, after reviewing all this I can safely say that Anakin:Expert hair stylist is canon.
